Sinjeong, also known as Korea New Year, is the first day of the Korean lunar calendar. It is one of the most significant traditional Korean holidays. The celebration include: the day before Korean New Year day; Korean New Year day itself; and the day after Korean New Year day.
Samiljeol
Samiljeol, The March 1st Movement, was one of the earliest public displays of Korean resistance during the ruling of Korea by Japan. The name refers to an event that occurred on March 1 1919, hence the movement's name, literally meaning "Three-One Movement" or "March First Movement" in Korean
Gwangbokjeol
Gwangbokjeol, the National Liberation Day of Korea, or Korean Independence Day is celebrated annually on August 15 in both North and South Korea. The day celebrates the national liberation from the Empire of Japan in 1945. On the same day in 1948, the government of the Republic of Korea was established. The word Gwangbok means "restoration of light".
Gaecheonjeol
Gaecheonjeol is a public holiday in South Korea on 3 October. Also known by the English name National Foundation Day. This holiday celebrates the legendary formation of the first Korean state of Gojoseon in 2333 Bc. This date has traditionally been regarded as the date for the founding of the Korean nation.
Hangeul Day
The Korean Alphabet Day, known as Hangeul Day in South Korea, and Choson gul Day in North Korea, is a national Korean commemorative day marking the invention and the proclamation of Hangul, the alphabet of the korean language, by the 15th-century korean monarch Sejong The Great. It is observed on October 9 in South Korea and on January 15 in North Korea.in 2013, Hangul Day became a national holiday in South Korea.
